The knowledge of America, Arctica, Antarctica and Australia on ancient maps

Dr. Christine Pellech

In this article should be profed that the continents of America and Australia, as well as Arctica and Antarctica, appear on maps before their official discoveries. The knowledge about these continents and landmasses could be stretched to a time before 10.000 BC, in which the continents of Asia and America were connected by a land bridge of 1500 km. By the then ruling last ice age the sea level was dropped down for about 120 meters which gave as a consequence that large area connection. At the same time the Antarctica coasts lay ice-free, this phenomenon could be found also on some old maps. Therefore we must assume by the exactitude of those maps we found, that then a high culture has dwelled on earth, because otherwise such a accuracy in the field of cartography was not to be attained.
